HARLEQUINS V CRUSADERS FRIENDLY CALLED OFF |
 Harlequins Rugby League regret to announce their preseason match against Crusaders Rugby League scheduled to be played this Saturday 16th January at Rosslyn Park has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. The decision was made after it became clear Crusaders RL would be unable to travel from North Wales to London due to the worst winter weather in decades.

Could you be a match official? |
 Over the coming couple of months there will be two foundation match official courses for rugby league. A number of new match officials are currently being sought to facilitate a rapid expansion within the game in the South. Being a referee or a touch judge is great way to be involved and is often described as being in the best seat in the house. As well as that it provides excellent benefits through being a great way to exercise and getting paid a small amount to do it. |

Capital Challenge - Skolars vs Harlequins |

London Skolars take on Harlequins Rugby League in the sixth annual ETF Securities Capital Challenge will take place on Friday 22nd January, 2010 at 1.45pm.
The yearly event sees London’s two professional rugby league clubs go head to head at the esteemed HAC Artillery Ground in the heart of the City of London. |

West Croydon Broncos will become the newest junior Rugby League club in London when the clubs first training session takes place on Saturday January 16th.
The Broncos have been set up to act as an exit club for primary schools in the Archbishop Lanfranc School sports partnership, who have been receiving regular coaching from the SSP's Community Rugby League coach Maurice Harley Preller and will run at under 9's and 11's in 2010. The club will be based at The Archbishop Lanfranc School and will also aim to attract players from the Broad Green and West Croydon areas of Croydon. They will complement the existing Croydon Hurricanes minis set up which targets children to the North of the borough plus the neighbouring boroughs of Sutton and Merton. |

Harlequins Rugby League to host London Double Header with London Skolars |

Harlequins Rugby League is pleased to announce they will host the first professional Rugby League double header with London Skolars at the Twickenham Stoop on Saturday 12th June 2010. The day will bring together all elements of the sport in London and the South East with all the community and amateur fixtures being played in the West London area ahead of the double header.
After the completion of the community fixtures at various venues in the region, London Skolars will begin proceedings with their Cooperative Championship 1 fixture against York City Knights at 2.30pm, before Harlequins play their engage Super League fixture against reigning champions Leeds Rhinos at 5pm. The day promises to an epic one for sports fans who, after the Quins RL game, can watch England’s World Cup group game against the USA on big screens in the bars. |

London and the South Carnegie Champion Schools Local Round Review 2009 / 2010 |

Building on the success of recent years the Carnegie Champion Schools competition in the South of England has once again seen some significant developments in the region. The boy’s game has grown by over 30% with 190 teams taking part in their local festivals, stemming from 76 schools across 10 county sports partnerships. Since it’s inception in 2003, London and the South has now engaged 1003 schools boys’ team in the Champion Schools initiative. The most notable annual developments have been recognised in Hertfordshire with the introduction of the St. Albans and Hemel Hempstead sub regional competitions.
