A delegation from the RFL is to fly out to Rostov-on-Don in Russia tomorrow to help develop and strengthen the game.

The ten day trip, principally organised by Rugby League European Federation Regional Co-ordinator for Russia Julia Bennison, will also see training undertaken with PE teachers, coaches and match officials.

Ten young volunteers selected from the whole country will assist in delivering the programme. London & the South East has two representatives travelling, they are Nimai Parmar and Jake cottrell who are both heavily involved with the development of the game in the region.

Nimai commented “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity of which I would not have been exposed to had I not volunteered in Rugby League”.

The young volunteers, selected due to their outstanding efforts and commitment to rugby league will help to deliver the programme which will include tag rugby coaching and tournaments, a women’s student tournament and visits to watch and officiate at Russian Student Championship matches.
