2010 Carnegie Schools Finals |
|

The finals of the 2010 Carnegie Champion Schools Tournament took place on Friday, August 27 at Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Complex in London - with the exception of the Year 7 Boys Final which was played as a curtain raiser to the Carnegie Challenge Cup Final at Wembley on Saturday. The tournament has continued to grow in 2010 with a record breaking 29,837 young people taking part from over 500 schools across the UK, involving 1,572 boys’ teams and 216 girls’ teams. |

The Co-operative, sponsor of The Co-operative Championships and official partner of the RFL recently hosted a Rugby League Media Training day at The Honourable Artillery Company training ground in Central London as part of an initiative aimed at bringing Rugby League to the capital in the build up to the 2010 Carnegie Challenge Cup Final. A select group of journalists were subjected to a typical Rugby League training session hosted by Co-operative ‘Good for Everyone’ ambassador Paul Sculthorpe and assisted by ex-England Rugby League captain and Harlequins loose forward Rob Purdham. |

London Tag Rugby Championships |

The 2010 GOAL London Tag Rugby Championships will bring the curtain down on London’s summer Tag Rugby season in a spectacular celebration that will see a huge number of teams descend on the nation’s capital for Try Tag Rugby’s feature event of the year on Sunday, August 29.
Try Tag Rugby CEO Phillip Browne said invitations have been sent far and wide for the inaugural event. Yamen El-Afifi, Finsbury Park's Mixed Player of the Season, is looking forward to the summer climax of the Tag Rugby calendar and the London-based Australian is one of a large number of local players hoping to take their end-of-season form onto the championship stage. |

RLC Regional Grand Finals |
|
The RLC Regional Grand Finals took place last weekend and both the East and South East regions fixtures proved to be the best of the round whilst the top four from the Southern Premier fought it out for places in this weekend's Grand Final.
In the East, reigning champions NORTHAMPTON DEMONS took on new comers and neighbours BEDFORD TIGERS in a game that had everything except for blazing sunshine. In the South East, GREENWICH ADMIRALS looked to continue their late run of form to keep their hands on the title they won last year by taking on home side and favourites GUILDFORD GIANTS. Meanwhile in the Southern Premier, EASTERN RHINOS were up against it playing the once beaten ST ALBANS CENTURIONS and the winner would take on the winner of the mouth watering HAMMERSMITH HILLS HOIST v WEST LONDON SHARKS contest. |
